Set 25 years after the events of The Day of the Triffids, this story follows David Masen, the grown son of Bill Masen, the original protagonist. The world has rebuilt in the wake of the triffid apocalypse — with human enclaves like the Isle of Wight maintaining a fragile peace and vigilance against the dangerous, mobile, venomous plants known as triffids.
