Marcia Blake, a charming but calculating woman, is newly married to wealthy, cantankerous widower Leonard Blake, whose sprawling estate and fortune she now calls home. But Leonard soon makes it clear he regrets the hasty marriage — and informs Marcia that he’s changing his will to cut her out.

Smiling sweetly, Marcia replies:
“You’ll have to be dead before I go anywhere, darling.”
To which Leonard growls:
