Dr. Julian Vance, a brilliant but erratic chemist, has developed a new chemical compound—a formula that induces temporary colour blindness in those exposed to it. Originally designed to help scientists isolate light frequencies in research, Julian begins to imagine other uses… darker ones.

He tests the formula on animals, then—secretly—on himself. The results are unnerving: the world turns into shades of grey, and his sense of perception begins to warp.
